The Water Services Department plans to carry out works to repair a leak on a large diameter trunk water main on Tuesday 26th June in lands off the Forest Road, Swords.
Although the main will be taken out of service on Monday 25th June from 7.00pm, most areas will continue to be supplied with water by back-feeding the area in order to minimise disruption. It is expected however that the higher areas of Boroimhe, Ridgewood and Rivervalley may experience low pressure and perhaps total water loss at the kitchen tap during this period.
Water stored in attic tanks will continue to supply bathrooms but may not refill during the work period and should be conserved as much as possible. Works are expected to be completed by late evening/night on Tuesday 26th and water restored to normal supply by early morning of Wednesday 27th June.
We would ask consumers not to stockpile water prior to the shut off as this only depletes the reservoir resulting in it taking longer for water to be restored when the service is turned back on.
To facilitate consumers affected by the disruption tankers will be put in place on Monday Evening at the follow locations:
Tesco in Ridgewood
Boroimhe Shopping Centre
Forest Little Golf Course
Water from the tankers should be boiled prior to use.
Fingal County Council apologise to consumers affected by the disruption to their service during these works and take this opportunity to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
