The design for the final phase of the Royal Canal Greenway is now available for public display. Fingal County Council is seeking submissions from the public. An information day will be held in the Atrium of Blanchardstown Civic Offices on Tuesday 5th March 2019, from 11:30am to 7:30pm, which will be attended by Fingal County Council Engineering Staff and DBFL Consulting Engineers.

Dublin's Draft Climate Change Action Plan - have your say.

Fingal County Council is inviting submissions from the public in response to the Draft Climate Change Action Plan 2019-2024.

The Draft Action Plan has been developed by the four Dublin local authorities alongside the Dublin energy agency Codema. Fingal County Council’s public consultation is open for submissions from 11 February until 25 March 2019.
As part of this public consultation process, Fingal County Council is organising a #Councils4ClimateAction public information event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown on Monday 25 February 2019 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm

NEW €1m ALL-WEATHER RUNNING TRACK AND SPORTS PITCH

As part of our ongoing investment in sports facilities in the area the council are proposing to build a new all-weather running track and sports pitch at Porterstown Park.


The Proposal includes:
  • A 6 Lane 400 Metre All-weather Running Track.
  • A 3rd Generation All-Weather Multi-functional Sports Pitch (Playing surface 100M x 64M with all- weather run-off areas).
  • 8 x 15 Metre high LED Floodlights to light both the running track and sports pitch to a minimum of 500 lux.
  • 4 Car Parking Spaces reserved for people with Special Needs located beside the facility.
  • A 1.5M high perimeter fence surrounding the track with 3 entrances (including 2 Vehicular Entrances).
  • Approximately 1,500 meters of 2.5M wide bound surfaced paths to service the new facilities.
  • Earthen Berms incorporating the excess of excavated material from the construction of the pitch and running track located within the development site will be graded to complement the landscape setting of the facilities.

Dublin Airport Welcomes Hainan's New Direct Route to Shenzhen

Hainan Airlines’ decision to launch a new year-round direct service from Dublin to Shenzhen later this month is a major boost for Irish trade and tourism. It marks another stage in the growth of Dublin airport as a major international hub.

Hainan will operate two flights per week between Dublin and Shenzhen, which is in south-eastern China. Shenzhen will be Dublin Airport’s second destination in mainland China, as Hainan already operates a Dublin-Beijing service.

New all-weather running track and sports pitch for Porterstown Park

A public consultation process has commenced on the proposed provision of a combined all-weather Running Track and Sports Pitch located at Porterstown Park in Dublin 15.

If approved, the proposal will result in the development of a major new active recreational facility available for use by a large number of clubs, schools and community groups in the wider Blanchardstown area. 

The project includes the first-ever public floodlit all-weather athletics track provided by Fingal County Council designed to meet daytime and evening training requirements for a wide range of sporting codes.
