BLANCHARDSTOWN AREA PARTNERSHIP APPOINTS NEW CEO

The Board of Blanchardstown Area Partnership has announced the appointment of Adeline O’Brien as Chief Executive. Adeline succeeds Terry McCabe who retired at the end of December after twenty years with the company. The Blanchardstown Area Partnership manages the local Employment Service and the community work placement scheme TUS in Blanchardstown as well as the new Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme for Fingal.

Outgoing CEO Terry McCabe stated: “I have really enjoyed working with Blanchardstown Area Partnership. It has been an honour and pleasure to work with the fantastic team at BAP. Without their commitment and hard work we could not deliver our successful programmes to the people of Fingal.

Minister Coveney visits Fingal County Council

The Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government, Simon Coveney, TD, paid a visit to Fingal County Council today (Monday) and met with councillors and staff in a series of meetings.

The Minister met with Fine Gael Councillors for forty minutes on his plans for solving the housing crisis through the Rebuilding Ireland Action Plan before addressing the full Council.

A proposal to upgrade the Snugborough Interchange on the N3 has been put on public display until the 9th February 2017. Submissions and observations regarding the proposed scheme will be accepted by Fingal County Council up to the 23rdFebruary 2017.

The upgrade will help relieve traffic congestion at one of Blanchardstown's busiest junctions.  If the scheme is approved it is hoped that construction will be completed in 2019. Further details on the Part VIII planning process can be accessed at Fingal County Council here.

Council funding available now for events and festivals

Fingal County Council’s Events Unit is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for financial assistance for events and festivals taking place in 2017.

Applications will be accepted from community/voluntary groups for existing and/or new events or festivals and from commercial organisations for new events or festivals. Please see the attached information application forms and ensure that you are completing the relevant document for your organisation.

The deadline for applications for events and/or festivals taking place in 2017 is Friday, 27 January 2017 at 5pm. If you have any queries please email events@fingal.ie.
