  Turnout: 31,901 (51.7%)

Reservoirs Serving Balbriggan and Malahide/Portmarnock Dangerously Low

Urgent Notice

Water levels at both reservoirs are dangerously low and there is a risk of the reservoirs running dry if consumption continues at the current rate.  

Consumers in the Balbriggan and Malahide/Portmarnock areas are urgently requested to use water as sparingly as possible for the next 24 hours or until repair work is completed on the 30” watermain at Forest Road, Swords.  

It would be a great help if all consumers were to use water sparingly.  Further updates will be provided as relevant information comes to hand.

6,000 More Springboard Places

More good news as the Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., and the Minister of State for Training and Skills, Ciarán Cannon, T.D., launches the next round of the Springboard programme today.

36 institutes of technology, universities and privately-run higher education colleges around the country will be offering 6,000 new places on 220 Springboard courses.

Ratoath Road Closure

Fingal County Council has made an order temporarily closing Ratoath Road from its junction with the Hollystown Roundabout (R121) to its junction with Bay Lane from Monday 14th May 2012 to Friday 18th May 2012 to facilitate the carrying out of essential construction works associated with the Tyrellstown to Cherryhound N2/N3 Link Road Project.


For eastbound traffic from Hollystown Roundabout the alternative route available is via Church Road, Cruiserath Road, Corduff Road, Ratoath Road (Part of), Kilshane Way and Cappagh Road.

For westbound traffic the alternative route is via Cappagh Road, Kilshane Way, Ratoath Road (Part of), Corduff Road, Cruiserath Road and Church Road to Hollystown Roundabout.


Local access will be maintained.

The nationwide event is produced by Music Network in association with RTE Lyric fm and funded by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Arts Council.  

 love:live music will be launched by Minister Deenihan on 16th May.  

The nationwide event will be presented on the love:live music website as a County by County programme.
