Free Recycling for Batteries, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Tuesday, November 22, 2011
European Recycling Platform in association with Fingal County Council will be holding 2 Open Days later this month where householders will be entitled to bring Batteries and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) free of charge for recycling (Fridge, washing machine, fluorescent tubes, microwaves, stereos, TVs, etc…).
European Recycling Platform is a not for profit company set up as a compliance scheme under the Waste Management (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2005.
The collections will take place as follows:
Thursday 24th November at Howth Harbour Car Park from 8am to 4pm.
Saturday 26th November at Power City, Coolmine Retail Park, Dublin 15, from 10am to 4pm.
Fingal are supporting this initiative as a means to raise extra awareness on the availability of free recycling of all batteries and household electrical / electronic appliances.
This day will aim to collect the same type of electrical appliances that can be brought to our recycling centres but its advertising will aim at making more people aware of the free recycling of WEEE. Anyone not going to the days in question can avail as usual of Coolmine and Estuary recycling centres where WEEE and batteries from households are accepted free of charge.
