Friday, February 22, 2019

The design for the final phase of the Royal Canal Greenway is now available for public display. Fingal County Council is seeking submissions from the public. An information day will be held in the Atrium of Blanchardstown Civic Offices on Tuesday 5th March 2019, from 11:30am to 7:30pm, which will be attended by Fingal County Council Engineering Staff and DBFL Consulting Engineers.

The route will serve Castleknock, Blanchardstown, Clonsilla, Coolmine and the wider Dublin 15 area. The proposed Urban Greenway will encourage recreation while offering an alternative transport choice for school children and commuters. This will bring significant environmental, economic and health benefits to the wider community.

Taking into account Royal Canal’s designation as a protected structure, the planned route for the Urban Greenway aims to protect and enhance the existing environment along the corridor.

The plans for the route will be on display until 25 March, 2019 in the Fingal County Council offices, Grove Road, Blanchardstown. To make a submission and find out more information, visit: https://consult.fingal.ie/en/browse.
