Construction Begins on Luttrellstown Community College

Work has begun on the construction of Luttrellstown Community College beside Scoil Choilim at Porterstown Road. Planning permission was granted earlier in the year and a possible appeal to An Bord Pleanala was narrowly averted at the last moment. All going to plan, the contractors HKTT and Western Build will have phase 1 of the school ready for occupation next September.

Fionnuala Ní Chaisil (Príomhoide) and Councillor Kieran Dennison with pupils and staff visit the site for Luttrellstown Community Colleges at Porterstown Road.


Phase 1 is designed to accommodate 650 students with:
  • 20 specialist classrooms
  • 18 general classrooms
  • General purpose hall
  • Library / Resource room
  • Offices
  • Staff areas
  • Sanctuary
  • Ancillary accommodation with a total floor area C. 7149 m2

Site works to Luttrellstown Community College consists of
  • 3 new ballcourts
  • External storage yard
  • Access road with bus turning circle and set down areas
  • 4 bicycle racks
  • Provision for 36 new car-parking spaces
The overall site area will be landscaped with grass planted areas and complete with new boundary treatment. Phase 2 design team will be appointed in the near future.
