Wednesday, September 12, 2012
“I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here” and MTV presenter Laura Whitmore today officially opened a new Boots Ireland flagship store in The Blanchardstown Centre, Dublin, which has created 30 new jobs and further delivers on Boots ambition to be Ireland’s leading pharmacy-led health and beauty retailer. The new 1,100 sq m store, which replaces the two existing Boots Ireland stores in the shopping centre, now employs 100 people on a full and part time basis.
Eagerly awaited by local shoppers, the new store, which is managed by Colm Walsh, will offer a large premium beauty hall including Lancôme, Clinique, Smashbox, Elizabeth Arden, Benefit and Estée Lauder.
The full No7 range will be available in the new store, as will the new ‘No7 Foundation Match Made Foundation Service’. The store will also offer ranges including vitamins, cosmetics, toiletries and fragrances for men and women. Photo products, electrical beauty and baby products are also available. Customers visiting the new store have access to a full range of pharmacy services, including prescription medicine services, management of repeat prescriptions, heart and blood pressure checks, and seasonal flu vaccinations. Additional services include the Boots Food Intolerance Testing Service, the Boots Stop for Good smoking cessation programme, emergency contraception and travel health advice.
Commenting on today’s launch, Debbie Smith, Managing Director, Boots Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be creating employment in Blanchardstown. It is because of the strong support we have had from customers at The Blanchardstown Centre that Boots Ireland has been able to open this amazing new store. We are looking forward to catering for people’s pharmacy and beauty product needs in an even more accessible, friendly environment that delivers excellence in customer care.”
Addressing staff and customers at the store opening, Deputy Mayor Peggy Hamilton said, “Fingal County Council is proud that the largest Boots to open in Ireland and the UK in 2012 is happening here in Blanchardstown. It is a welcome boost for employment in the area and represents a vote of confidence.”
Gina Quin, CEO, Dublin Chamber of Commerce, said, “Boots decision to open another flagship store here is a sign that Dublin is an increasingly competitive place to do business. Top global companies are choosing Dublin and we have the skilled workforce and the customer base to support them. Dublin Chamber of Commerce looks forward to working with Boots and other international retailers as they see the increasing opportunities the city has to offer.”
