Work to begin on Luttrellstown Community College
Friday, November 25, 2011
Minister for Education, Ruairi Quinn, has confirmed that work will begin on the Porterstown School Campus in 2012.
The Porterstown School Campus will comprise new school buildings for Luttrellstown Community College, along with a classroom extension for Scoil Choilm. The development will include additional Special Education and Training provision for remedial teaching, special needs facilities, and a General Purpose Hall. The campus will be accessed from the new Porterstown link road.
Planning permission is expected to be submitted to Fingal County Council in January with the tender process commencing in tandem. Assuming that no problems arise, construction will begin late in 2012 with a view to completion for the begining of the new school year at the end of August 2013.
Luttrellstown Community College currently operates from temporary buildings near Blanchardstown Hospital, a long way from the school’s natural catchment area.
