Fleet Connect wins National Enterprise Award

Friday, November 25, 2011

Congratulations to local entrepreneur Patrick Cotter of Fleet Connect who won the Best New Business Award at the National Enterprise Awards at Dublin Castle last night.

Fleet Connect had been selected as one of the 8 national finalists for the awards organized by the County Enterprise Boards.

Based in Ballycoolin industrial estate in Dublin 15, Fleet Connect, set up in 2008 by Patrick Cotter, provides passenger Wi-Fi services for major transport companies North and South, including Bus Eireann, Irish Rail, Translink, Aircoach and Go Bus.

It is a great example of the type of company that the Fingal County Enterprise Board helps to start up and grow. It shows what terrific potential there is to set up new companies in Ireland. As a board member I am always impressed at the quality of the applications we receive for mentoring and funding.

FleetConnect has already established itself as the leading provider of industrial-grade in-vehicle systems for fast broadband access, delivering passengers WiFi (free internet access) and GPS vehicle tracking - as well as connectivity to enable live CCTV and eticketing.

Customers include JJKavanagh & Sons, Aircoach and Matthews Coaches.
