Social Housing Assessment 2016

Friday, August 5, 2016

Is your Housing Application up to date? Fingal County Council is currently contacting all applicants who have applied for social housing support prior to the 21st of September 2015, to confirm that they still require social housing support, and wish to remain on the Housing list. Each applicant must confirm their requirement to the Council by completing the assessment form which has been issued. Applicants who have applied after the 21st of September 2015 do not need to contact the Council unless there is a change in circumstances.

This process is to facilitate the preparation of a Social Housing Assessment Summary in accordance with Section 21 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009. All Local Authorities are required by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government to complete this assessment for all persons who have applied for social housing support. The purpose of the Assessment is to capture the total number of households qualified for social housing support across the county whose social housing need is not being met, in order to understand the level of need for such support.

Social Housing Assessment forms must be returned no later than Friday, 19th August 2016 in order for applicants to continue to be included on the list for social housing support. All forms returned to the Council will then be assessed and if an applicant no longer requires social housing support or is no longer eligible their file will be closed. Letters will be issued to all eligible housing applicants, listing their position on the list, following full completion of the Social Housing Assessment 2016. It is expected that this will happen before the end of the year.

Forms can be returned by post or in person at the following locations:
